Corporate Structure
Swan TAFE is supported by a Governing Council representing industry, Government and community that provides its Corporate Executive, chaired by the Managing Director, with high-level strategic advice and guidance.
Following the Governing Council, the College is comprised of:
Corporate Executive
Carries overall responsibility for the College’s Operations by informing and supporting the implementation of policy generated from within or outside the College.
Divisions
A collection of portfolios reporting to a Divisional Director or Corporate Units, reporting to a Corporate Director.
Portfolio Teams
Business and service units responsible for the delivery of their core business in the context of a broader College framework of strategic directions, policies and procedures.
Standing Committees
Run by staff and supported by industry, they decide College policy direction and make decisions about issues affecting the operation of Swan TAFE.
Professional Teams
Focus on the provision and/or support of Vocational Education and Training services. They provide a collective forum for shared communication and debate on issues such as College strengths and challenges.
Together, these units ensure that Swan TAFE actively seeks to improve their organisational structure, development, training and facilities, enabling them to continue producing top-class graduates.
Training Divisions
Swan TAFE delivers training in over 250 qualifications across six campuses. Each qualification provides students with the skills and knowledge they require in order to secure productive and rewarding employment.
Swan TAFE’s courses are grouped under six major Training Divisions:
Access and Community Services
Includes courses in English, Community Services, Children’s Services, Health Management, Fitness and Women’s Programs
Building, Construction and Furniture
Includes courses in Bricklaying, Stonemasonry, Wall and Floor Tiling, Carpentry and Joinery, Cabinet Making, Upholstery, Plumbing and Gas and Painting and Decorating
Business, Finance and Computing
Includes courses in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, Financial Services, Information Technology and Laboratory Skills
Hospitality, Manufacturing and Allied Services
Includes courses in Animal Studies, Art, Environmental Science, Food Processing, Baking, Hairdressing, Retail, Textiles and Fashion and Tourism and Wine
Metals, Engineering, Technology and Mining
Includes courses in Metal Fabrication and Welding, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Systems and Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning
Transport
Includes courses in Auto Mechanics, Aeroskills and Aviation (Ground and Flight Operations and Pilot Studies)
These Training Divisions each work towards constantly meeting the overall training needs of employers, while also remaining focused on the College’s overall training objectives.
