Certificate IV in Applied Environmental Arts

Midland Campus

Environmental Art is the practice of creating works of art designed specifically for their surroundings – what is designed for a hospital foyer would not necessarily be appropriate in a police station. Skills covered include painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and printing. This qualification also goes into art history, art terminology and critical approaches to art production and presentation.

Midland Campus

Take the art research, development, production and presentation skills you learnt in Certificate IV to a new level. This qualification looks at the production of art appropriate to its environment in a range of contexts and areas like painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and printing. Focusing on project work, this qualification is for those who are serious about their arts career. Love fashion? Love creating your own style? Put your designer dreams into practice with this qualification. You will be guided through the whole fashion development cycle, starting with concept design work, through draping and patternmaking to garment production and presentation. Along the way you will gain knowledge and skills in areas such as fabric technology, textiles, history of design and computer generated design.

You’ve got clothing design and production skills under your belt, and now it’s time to make that label a couture reality. Learn a range of management skills like co-ordinating production, working as part of a team, implementing quality assurance plans and using a range of technology for production. Certificate II in Hairdressing

The Certificate II in Hairdressing has been designed as a qualification for students providing general assistance in a hairdressing salon. Functions at this level include performing a limited range of hairdressing tasks, interacting with customers and providing customer service. To enrol in this course you would need to be indentured by an employer.

 

Certificate III in Hairdressing

The Certificate III in Hairdressing is the standard entry level qualification for the hairdressing industry. For those who achieve this qualification duties include working as part of a team in a salon, performing processes that require a range of well developed skills where discretion and judgement is required. Key functions include client consultation and advice, hair and scalp treatments, haircutting, hair design, colour and lightening. To enrol in this course you would need to be indentured by an employer.

If you have previously been licensed to work in the hairdressing industry and your license has lapsed, we are now delivering a refresher course where you can update your skills to be eligible to sit the Hairdressers Registration Board’s examination. If your license is still current but lack confidence to re-enter the workforce this course could be the one for you.

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to perform a range of mainly routine tasks in the creative industry sector.
